NEW YORK (AP) – Chinese consumer products marketing Monster Beats company Acorn International Inc. said Wednesday it turned a profit in the second quarter on higher direct sales and a shift toward more profitable products.

The company earned $3.8 million, or 13 cents per American depository share, compared with a loss of $1.8 million, or 6 cents per ADS, in the second quarter of 2010.
